About

One of the most storied comedy clubs in the world may be found there; it is the origin of contemporary American improv. We also adore Old Town for its quaintness from bygone eras, lovely shops, and lively nightlife.

The Second City, a comedy institution that helped launch the careers of Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Gilda Radner, Aidy Bryant, Cecily Strong, Mike Myers, Chris Farley, Key & Peele, John Belushi, Jane Lynch, Tina Fey, Steve Carell, and... well, you get the idea. The Second City is located in Old Town. Every night of the week, a live performance showcasing the best emerging talent in the city is available.

The Second City isn't the only attraction in this area, either. Shopping at trendy boutiques, dining at charming inns, and seeing some of Chicago's most opulent residences can all be done in this historic area. The main strip, Wells Street, has a ton of lively restaurants and bars, and it's where young people go to go bar hopping.

A popular hangout for Second City actors and alumni is Old Town Ale House, where you can find locals at the bar and the owner's artwork on the walls. Grab some barbecue ribs at Twin Anchors, a historic speakeasy where Frank Sinatra was a regular, for another traditional Old Town experience.

Additionally, the Old Town Art Fair, which attracts 30,000 art enthusiasts, brings together a huge number of nationally recognized artists every June to exhibit their work.
